[Jasper's surprise catches Hendrik's ear, and he again stares at his goblet while turning it between his hands. He doesn't know why the surprise makes him feel ... guilty, of all things. Maybe he should have mentioned it to him back when he had asked King Carnelian? It seemed rather demoralizing, so he had thought it better not to say anything...

He glances up, noticing that Jasper has turned his head away. Taking another sip of his wine, he sighs.]

I did not want to mention it when everything was still ... raw. And then I suppose I forgot to say anything at all.

[He sure seemed to forget to communicate quite a bit.]

Time having passed would perhaps not change his mind, but circumstances are somewhat different now. I should at least try.
